Because of You Character Interview

I had such a great time interviewing the Wreck Me characters I thought I’d interview Austin and Jade from Because of You. The best way to get to know characters is by using the questionnaire from the Actor’s Studio. Here is Austin and Jade.

because of you reveal-1

1. What is your favorite word?

Jade: Honesty. It’s so hard these day to find someone who really is honest. And when you do find that person is truly honest with you, you have to hold on to them.

Austin: Beautiful. It’s the word that comes to me when I look at Jade.

2. What is your least favorite word?

Jade: Betrayal. It’s all I’ve ever seen in my life.

Austin: My name when it comes out of my father’s mouth. I know when he says my name the next word out of his mouth won’t be a good one.

3. What turns you on?

Jade: Austin’s dimples. They drive me crazy.

Austin: Anything Jade does. Even when she’s mad at me. She’s just so beautiful.

4. What turns you off?

Jade: Hurtful words. The wrong words could tear your heart apart.

Austin: Someone being unfaithful. There’s no way to forgive someone after you know they cheated on you.

5. What sound do you love?

Jade: The sound of the ocean waves hitting the shore.

Austin: Jade’s laughter. I love knowing I’m making her happy.

6. What sound do you hate?

Jade: My dad’s girlfriend’s voice. It’s like nails going down a chalkboard.

Austin: My father’s judgmental voice.

7. What is your favorite curse word?

Jade: Screw You. Enough said.

Austin: The famous fuck.

8. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

Jade: I’m not really sure yet. Something to do with art.

Austin: A writer. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.

9. What profession would you not like to do?

Jade: Anything that will have me trapped in a cubical all day long.

Austin: Becoming a lawyer like my father.

10. Tells us something no one knows about you?

Jade: I never stopped loving Austin. Even when he hurt me when we were kids I still loved him.

Austin: Even though Jade and I were not friends for years it didn’t stop me from keeping an eye on her. I will always regret hurting her when we were kids.

Top 5 Book Couples According to Me

Tomorrow is the day. The paperback version of Wreck Me will be released (eBook will be released in a week). To celebrate Chase & Piper’s day I’m sharing my favorite five book couples. Make sure to check out Danielle Sibarium’s choice for top couple. And don’t forget to enter to win some cool prizes at the bottom of the page.

5. Jaden & Parker from Cross My Heart by Katie Klein. Although the twist in this book made me mad, I did love the chemistry between Jaden & Parker. So much so that a year after I read the book I still think of them.

4. Lana & Robert from The Nature of Cruelty by L.H. Cosway. I loved this couple so much I actually went to work after only sleeping for an hour, because I stayed up reading. I couldn’t put the book down.

3. Lori & Adam from Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols. I love this couple so much I wish Jennifer Echols would write more books about them.

20140616-054942-20982861.jpg

2. Abby & Travis from Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire. I know this couple has been criticized for their turbulence romance, but there was just something in their love that really got to me. So much so that I find myself getting jealous every time I hear someone is reading the book for the first time.

1. Hazel & Augustus from The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Their romance is so beautiful, which made me laugh and cry so much I couldn’t breathe.

25 Fun Facts About Me

In celebration of the Wreck Me and Regret Me Not release on June 17, 2014 Danielle Sibarium and I are sharing 25 fun fact about ourselves and our books.

5 Fun Facts About Hold on Tight:

Holdontightnewcover

1. I came up with the idea for the story Hold on Tight after watching a marathon of Dawson Creek and Felicity when I was sick with the flu.

2. The first character I came up with was Court.

3. Bethel Woods, the place three scenes take place is ten miles from my house, and it’s where I go to see summer concert. It is also the home of where the Woodstock concert took place 45 years ago.

4.The main character Emma’s love of ice cream was inspired by me. I believe happiness can be found in a bowl of ice cream.

5.Hold on Tight has had three different covers. What can I say I get bored very quickly.

5 Fun Facts About Letting Go:

letting-go-cover-2

1. When I was 80% done with the Letting Go manuscript I lost my laptop, which contained the only copy. I had to rewrite the whole book, making sure I saved it on three different memory sticks.

2. One of the scenes takes place at an O.A.R concert at Bowery Ball Room in New York City. I really went to that concert three days before Hold on Tight was official released.

3. Every chapter in Hold on Tight and Letting Go were titled after songs. And the town Cypress Oak was named after the rap group Cypress Hill.

4. My dream is to open a cafe just like the Black Bird Cafe, where the characters Mila and Nash work.

5. Every time I had to work on the scene between Emma and her mother, where the truth is revealed, I cried hysterically.

5 Fun Facts About Because of You:

because of you reveal-1

1. I got the idea for the story Because of You after watching this Youtube video:

2. Because of You was first titled Austin & Jade and then By Your Side.

3. I am not fan of One Direction, but their song Moments became the song I listened to non-stop while writing Because of You.

4. I modeled Austin after the guy I wish I had dated in high school

5. I picked the names Jade and Austin because together they sounded like Jane Austen, one of my favorite classic authors.

5 Fun Facts About Wreck Me:

Wreck Me Cover

1. I came up with title Wreck Me after falling in love with the song Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.

2. In Wreck Me Piper is put on Academic probation for partying too much. I had the same experience when I first went to college. The only difference is I got kicked out. I didn’t go back to school until I was 30 years old. And now I can proudly say not only do I have a BA I also have a Masters.

3. Piper, the protagonist, has three sisters and my plan is to give each one of them their own story.

4. The band Almost Broken mentioned in Wreck Me was named by one of my FaceBook friends.

5.The song Driving Wheel used in the Wreck Me book trailer is sung by 15 year old Zach Pearson. He recorded the song on his iPhone.

5 Fun Facts About Me:

foo fighters 2011 007

1. My favorite new snack is apple slices with Almond butter.

2. I didn’t own a computer until I was twenty-eight years old.

3. I have tons of notebooks with short stories I’ve written and almost half of them take place in the Bronx.

4. I prefer upstate NY than New York City

5. I try to go to at least six concerts every summer. And two of those are always an O.A.R concert. In fact my first concert this summer is the same day Wreck Me is release. I’m going to see Journey.

Book Review: The Time Zombies Became the Least of My Worries By Jen Naumann

zombie2-cover2

Book Description:

Ever since the zombie virus hit Emma’s irritatingly boring Midwestern hometown, she’s been on the run with her old best friend-turned-boyfriend Finn. On their journey, they’ve witnessed some pretty disgusting deaths, narrowly escaped life-threatening escapades that sometimes included one of their own pulling a gun on them numerous times, and redefined the definition of what makes up a family (as it turns out, soldiers and geeks can be pretty decent). They’ve even learned the disturbing truth behind the mysterious virus. But after Emma was bit by one of the infected trying to save her neighbor boy, she was told she would not have long to live.
In the thrilling sequel to The Day Zombies Ruined My Perfectly Boring Life, Finn will help to tell the story as Emma and the gang are faced with the most crucial life-changing decisions yet. They’ll come across an unfortunate group of rednecks, discover the truth of what happened to Finn’s federal agent mother, and finally see a chance at truly being safe without having to run anymore. But in the middle of it all, Emma and Finn’s relationship will soar to completely uncomfortable levels when Finn takes things one step too far. And between being injected with an unknown liquid, taking on a completely unexpected (and really agitating alliance), and being left for dead by those she loves most, Emma will realize that zombies are the least of her worries.
oprah, laughing
View Raw Image

I first fell in love with this series when I read The Day Zombies Ruined My Perfectly Boring Life. I couldn’t wait for the sequel to come out. When I got my hands on a ARC I was so excited I couldn’t stop jumping for joy. And I’m so happy to say the sequel did not disappoint. From the very first chapter I found myself hooked. I couldn’t stop laughing out loud and cheering for our group of misfits. Jen has an amazing talent bring comedy to her writing without trying too hard. I love the chemistry all the characters have with each other. You really feel like you know them. Emma is definitely the star of this book. I love how carefree she is, even when she’s dealing with turning into a zombie. Emma is one tough girl. She doesn’t just sit around waiting to be saved, but instead is fighting along side the guys. Without giving anything away Emma turns out to be a hero in more ways then one.

Let’s talk about Finn. He’s as hot and romantic as he is in the first book. His love for Emma makes him protective of her. He doesn’t care who he pisses off as long as he’s taking care of Emma. If there’s ever a Zombie outbreak I hope I have someone like Finn to protect me.

If you think all the hidden secretes were revealed in the first book you are dead wrong. The Time Zombies Became the Least of My Worries still manages to shock the reader. Many times my jaw hit the floor. I kept thinking I did not see that coming. I truly enjoyed reading every page in this book and never found myself board. Besides laughing out loud I also had my heart racing with all the twists. Most loved the relationship between Emma and Finn. But most of all I loved the relationship between Emma and Finn with all the other characters.
